STANDARD 11

STEAM learning experiences integrate all STEAM disciplines with an emphasis on processes and practices
associated with STEAM.

Impact Narrative: 

Centennial Academy focuses on supporting scholars in making meaningful connections between experiences and content disciplines. During our protected weekly PBL time, scholars are able to dive-deep into the processes and practices within STEAM. Our visual arts and music teacher are also able to collaborate and assist in truly integrating art standards into project-based learning. By using STEAM journals throughout the PBL, scholars acknowledge and visually see the Design Thinking Process and the emphasis on student-led inquiry.

 

When our school went virtual in March 2020, we continued to provide our scholars with at-home extended inquiry and STEAM challenges. The pictures below are examples of STEAM learning and inquiry that continued even as we navigated an unknown and ever-changing school experience!
